About Myriam Ojeda-Patiño

Myriam Ojeda-Patiño

Myriam Ojeda-Patiño is the Director and Choreographer for Tiempo de Tango, the UK's only Latin American dance company.

Her exceptional work has been recognised by the Arts Council, Channel 4, the BBC, the London Arts Board and renowned Latin American and British choreographers and dancers alike.

Born in Colombia, Myriam grew up in a culture which has kept the historical influences of the Native Indian, African and Spanish traditions, each adjusting and adapting to the other, yet always retaining its own separate core.

This constant evolution, adapting and integrating, is reflected deeply in Myriam's approach:

“Choreography for me evolves through working and being with dancers like Siobahn Davies, and from other disciplines, musicians, writers, visual artists – each bringing their history and influences to the core of my work, tango, to create a passionate performance experience and a new dance language.”

Myriam regularly runs workshops for arts organisations and businesses. She also acts as a dance consultant for TV programming.
